Miss Earth CANADA 2009 and ROSOTRO joined the ECO Cartier CDN and other eco-warriors last saturday(April 24) for a street clean up on Van Horne. MEC 09 also took part with Organizers of Comité Ecologique Du Grand Montréal on Earth Day April 22.

MEC09 Lateesha Ector on EARTH DAY!

It's EARTH DAY! It has been a busy long day for Miss Earth CANADA 2009 Lateesha Ector but it was worth it! It started in the morning, she visited the schoolchildren at Sunshine Academy School (West Island), then off to Ville St. Laurant in the afternoon with ROSOTRO, the Organizers from Ecologique du Grand Montreal and 150 volunteers to clean Parc Marcel Laurin. She then later joined the Appreciation Dinner for the Volunteers of DESTA Community Center at the Little Burgundy. GREAT JOB, MEC09!

Our very own Mrs. Norma F. Vohra is adding another award to her collection. The Montreal Pinoy Post, one of the leading Filipino Newspapers in Montreal is celebrating their first year anniversary and will be giving the Lakandula Awards of recognition to people who have contributed to the society with their volunteerism, excellent participation in the community and for being a good role model for youth. Mrs. Vohra, who has been involved with the Miss Earth CANADA Organization from the very beginning is one of the recipients of the Lakandula Awards. The awarding will take place on April 24 at the Catalina Hall, Marriott Courtyard (Airport).

MRS. JOAN HART- a dear Friend and Supporter of Miss Earth CANADA to receive an Award.

At the City of Greater Sudbury, they had numerous nominations to receive the 2010 Civic Award for Volunteerism voted by the Council of the City of Greater Sudbury. Mrs. Joan Jeanne Hart has been selected by the Volunteer Advisory Panel to receive this Award. The Award presentation will take place on Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 in the main Foyer at City Hall Tom Davies Square.
