The candidates of Miss Earth 2011 attended an environmental seminar on Monday, November 21 at the Tamarraw Hall, Bulwagan Ninoy, Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center in Quezon City. In line with the theme of the International Year of the Forests, the candidates learned more about the forestry efforts all over Asia with focus on the Philippines.Before the start of the lectures, the candidates got to know each other better by sharing tree-vias about themselves. 3 speakers shared their knowledge on the topic: Dr. Sherlock Shih-Liang Tu, PhD from Asian Development Bank, Ms. Julie Ibuan from DENR and Asec. Marlo D. Mendoza from DENR (National Greening Program)
The delegates also briefly visited the Rescue Center where they saw animals such as snakes, birds, tigers, bear cats and iguanas whick were confiscated and rescued from all over the country.
